How to connect to your audio device.

Advance Preparation

  • Check that your audio device is compatible with Music Center / SongPal.
     Compatible models
  • If your audio device and mobile device are connected via a BLUETOOTH connection, disconnect the BLUETOOTH connection on the mobile device.
  • If your audio and Android™ devices do not have the(NFC) mark on them, use [Connect manually through BLUETOOTH settings] to connect them via a BLUETOOTH connection.
    To find out whether the devices support the NFC function, refer to operating instructions of each device.
  • If you want to connect your audio device to a Wi-Fi network using Music Center / SongPal, connect to Wi-Fi network with a mobile device that has Music Center / SongPal installed.
    For details about connecting to a Wi-Fi network, refer to the operating instructions of the wireless router.
    Make a note of the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password of the wireless router for future reference.

Outline of connection

  1. Connect the mobile device and audio device via a BLUETOOTH connection
  2. Connect the audio device to the Wi-Fi network
    Note

    Even if connecting with a Wi-Fi network, a BLUETOOTH connection is required.
    If you want to connect your audio device to a Wi-Fi network using Music Center / SongPal, make the Wi-Fi network settings via BLUETOOTH communications.

    If you are using iOS 13.0 / iOS 13.1, permit access to the BLUETOOTH from [Settings] - [Music Center] on the iPhone.

Connection procedure

  1. Connect the mobile device and audio device via a BLUETOOTH connection
    For information on how to connect to your device, select the type of mobile device that you have installed Music Center / SongPal onto.


    • For Android devices

      Launch Music Center / SongPal, tap (add device), and select [Connect manually through BLUETOOTH settings].

      Set the audio device to BLUETOOTH pairing mode.
      (For details about the pairing operation of the audio device, refer to the operating instructions of the device.)

      Follow the instructions on the Music Center / SongPal screen, select the audio device from the BLUETOOTH setting menu of the mobile device.

      If you do not use a Wi-Fi network, select [Cancel] when the following screen is displayed.

      Enable the NFC settings on your mobile device.

      Launch Music Center / SongPal, tap (add device), and select [Connect by NFC].

      When you touch the  (NFC) mark of the mobile device to the   (NFC) mark of the audio device, the BLUETOOTH connection is established.

      If you do not use a Wi-Fi network, select [Cancel] when the following screen is displayed.


      For iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch)

      Launch Music Center / SongPal, tap (add device), and follow the instructions on the screen.

      Note

      If there already is an audio device connected via a BLUETOOTH connection, disconnect it on the setting screen of the iOS device.

      Set the audio device to BLUETOOTH pairing mode.
      (For details about the pairing operation of the audio device, refer to the operating instructions of the device.)

      From the setting screen of the iOS device, select [BLUETOOTH] and select the audio device.

      Press the Home button of the iOS device and launch Music Center / SongPal again.

      If you do not use a Wi-Fi network, select [Cancel] when the following screen is displayed.

  2. Connect your audio device to a Wi-Fi network
    After a BLUETOOTH connection has been made, follow the on-screen instructions and connect your audio device to a Wi-Fi network.
    To connect to a Wi-Fi network, permit access to the location.
    If a password is required, enter the password that you recorded.
    Hint

    You can also set a Wi-Fi network connection from the following screen.

    When the audio device is connected to a Wi-Fi network, Music Center / SongPal terminates the BLUETOOTH connection, and the ”Music Source” screen is shown.
